Every product on Vela is here for a reason. Here is exactly what that means.

Body-safe materials, always

We will not carry a product that we would not use ourselves. Every item in our catalog is evaluated for material safety before it is listed. We do not carry products made with phthalates, BPA, latex (unless explicitly stated for latex-specific products), or non-body-safe plastics.

When it comes to intimate wellness and pleasure products, we prioritize the following materials: medical-grade silicone, stainless steel, borosilicate glass, and ABS plastic. These materials are non-porous, easy to clean, and safe for intimate use.

Every product description on our site lists the materials used. If it is not listed, contact us before purchasing and we will find out for you.

Curated, not exhaustive

We are not a marketplace. We do not list every product from every supplier and let you sort through thousands of options. We curate. Every product in our catalog has been selected with intention — for its materials, its design, its value, and its fit within the Vela brand.

We would rather carry three hundred products we believe in than three thousand we do not.

Honest descriptions

We review and curate every product description on our site to ensure it is accurate, honest, and helpful.

We will never describe a product as doing something it does not do. We will never use euphemisms that obscure what something is. And we will always include the information you need to make a confident purchase.

Discreet by design

Privacy is not an afterthought at Vela — it is a design principle. Every order ships in plain, unmarked packaging with no indication of the contents on the outside. Your billing statement shows VELA RITUALS. Our return address does not identify the nature of your purchase.

We built our entire customer experience around the assumption that your purchase is your business. Full stop.

Supplier standards

We work with established US-based wholesale distributors who carry reputable, tested brands. We do not source from unverified overseas manufacturers or list products we cannot stand behind. Our suppliers are required to provide accurate material specifications for every product they carry.

We regularly review our catalog and will remove products that no longer meet our standards — regardless of how well they sell.

No shame, ever

Sexual wellness is wellness. We believe that completely, and it shapes every decision we make — from the language we use in product descriptions to the way we design our packaging to the brands we choose to carry.

There is no product on Vela that you should feel embarrassed to buy. There is no question you could ask us that we would judge you for. And there is no version of your body, your relationship, or your desires that is not welcome here.

That is our standard. We hold ourselves to it every day.
